As Brighter Futures Educational Trust grows, its governance and leadership structures
evolve to ensure effective support for all schools
Key principles include:
• Brighter Futures Educational Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees. They are
accountable to the Department for Education and hold overall responsibility for the Trust’s
performance, including the running of all our schools
The Board of Trustees is supported by two key strategic committees:
• Finance and Risk Committee
• Standards Committee
• Standards Committee
These committees offer oversight across the Trust’s key operational areas. The full board
meets once a term, while the committees meet every half term.
The Trust has a clear scheme of delegation which outlines how responsibilities are
shared between the Members, the Board of Trustees, the Sub Committees, the Executive
Headteacher/CAO, the CFO/Head of Finance and Operations, the Lead Governanance
Professional, the Local Governing Board and the Headteachers or Associate Headteachers
of each school.
